Somali Police Force (SPF) Chief has warned police officers to stop meddling in politics.
Police boss Major General Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar issued his warning to the police officers on December 30.
He was speaking in the aftermath of the recent news of division within the military.
Sections of the military have divided their allegiance to either President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo or Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
Currently, Farmaajo and Roble are caught in a war of words.
Farmaajo attempted to suspend the Prime Minister earlier this week. Roble later hit out at Roble for “attempting a coup against him.”
Maj. Gen. Hijar reminded police officers that their primary responsibility is protection of lives and property.
