General Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, the Somali Police Force (SPF) Commissioner, has fired Mogadishu’s police commander.
Gen. Hijar sent General Sadiq Omar, Banadir Regional Police Commissioner, packing on April 12.
It is not yet clear why Gen. Hijar took this decision.
However, there are reports that he might have taken this drastic measure in response to the dwindling security in the capital city.
Meanwhile, Gen. Hijar also announced the appointment of Major Farhan Mohamud Aden as the new Banadir Regional Police Commissioner.
