President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia addressed a large crowd of Somalis in the diaspora on December 15.
The Somali leader addressed the crowd that mostly comprised Somalis living, working, and studying in Minneapolis.
He addressed the Somalis at a packed auditorium in Minneapolis.
Those who attended the meeting kept cheering and waving Somalia flags as the President addressed them.
His address came a few moments after he arrived at the auditorium just before 11pm.
President Mohamud delivered the speech for roughly 30 minutes.
The Somali President was in the company of Ilhan Omar, an American Congresswoman of Somali descent.
Other notable personalities who attended the gathering included Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis and Jamal Osman.
Osman is an elected member of the Minneapolis City Council.
President Mohamud addressed the Somalis in the diaspora shortly after the end of the United States-Africa Leaders’ Summit.
