President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed a new Mayor of Mogadishu.
A communiqué from Villa Somalia indicates that Yusuf Hussein Jimale takes over as the new Mayor of Mogadishu.
Further, Jimale would also serve as the Governor of Benadir Regional Administration (BRA).
The Somali President made the appointment on Wednesday, September 7.
At the moment, it is still not clear what happens to Omar M. M. Filish, who has been occupying both offices for quite a while.
Villa Somalia reported that President Mohamud made the appointment in consultation with the federal Ministry of Interior.
Jimale previously held the same office between 2015 and 2017.
