President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Uganda for a regional summit.
The Somali leader is to attend the Extraordinary Summit of the Heads of State of the Countries Contributing Troops to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
The four-day summit kicked off on Tuesday.
ATMIS has invited participants to evaluate the mission’s mandate in Somalia.
They are to discuss organization’s drawdown plans that run from June 30 to December 31, 2023.
Somali National Army (SNA) is then expected to take over all security responsibilities from ATMIS fully.
