Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called for transitioning from humanitarian response to development programs.
Speaking on Monday at the Global Food Summit in London, Resident Mohamud stated that the focus ought to be more on development programs and projects.
He expressed gratitude to the international community for the support offered to Somalia over the years, especially regarding humanitarian responses.
President Mohamud hosted yesterday’s session jointly with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
In his address at the summit, the President said that focusing on development would guarantee resilient and lasting benefits for all Somalis back home.
