President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has commended Galmudug for repulsing a planned attack by Al-Shabaab.
Al-Shabaab fighters planned an attack at Bahdo, a town in Galmudug on Friday, June 17.
Fortunately, the combined efforts by residents and Galmudug Regional Forces forced them to flee and abandon their mission.
President Mohamud issued a statement later in the day commending the locals.
He called their efforts “gallant.”
In his words, the bravery of the army and the residents proved that Somalis are committed to eradicating terrorists in their country.
