President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud congratulated Keir Starmer who was elected as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Starmer won the elections held on July 4.
He led the Labour Party to a resounding victory at the polls. Labour is now the clear majority side in parliament.
President Mohamud said that the UK remains Somalia’s “valuable ally and friend.”
He expressed hope that the bilateral relations between Somalia and the UK would grow stronger under Starmer.
