Somali President Holds Meeting with US Ambassador and New AFRICOM Commander

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a joint meeting with the United States Ambassador to Somalia at Villa Somalia on August 29

The new commander of the US African Command (AFRICOM), General Michael Langley, was also present at the meeting.

During Monday’s meeting, Ambassador Larry Andre and Gen. Langley assured Somalia of their support in the fight against terrorism.

They spoke about the shared priorities and operations between the East African nation and the United States too.

Gen. Langley is currently in the region to familiarize himself with the ongoing operations by AFRICOM in Somalia.
