Commerce Minister Visits Mogadishu Port

The federal Minister of Commerce and Industry visited Mogadishu Port on Thursday, September 1.

Jibril Abdirashid Haji, the commerce minister, visited the port to evaluate the level of efficiency at the critical infrastructure that serves all of Somalia.

He also visited the offices of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) in the nation’s capital.

Haji said that he visited the two government properties to ascertain that the management was operating efficiently and effectively.

Further, he reminded the offices at the port and the SOBS offices that efficient and effective management of their facilities is the best solution for improving trade facilitation.

The minister urged them to improve efficiency and effectiveness as a way of protecting consumer safety from harmful and substandard products.
