President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia held talks with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The meeting between President Mohamud and UAE’s President Mohamed Bin Zayed took place on Wednesday, June 22.
President Mohamud is on an official visit to the UAE at the invitation of President Zayed.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed issues touching on their respective nations. First, they agreed that Somalia and UAE must strengthen their bilateral ties.
The UAE also promised to support ongoing emergency drought response measures in Somalia.
Additionally, Somalia and the Middle East nation agreed to pursue and enhance economic and security cooperation between them.
