President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has traveled to Dhusamareb to launch the second phase of operations against terrorists.
The President traveled to the administrative capital of the regional state of Galmudug on Saturday.
He traveled shortly after chairing a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) where members agreed to prepare for the second phase of the counterterrorism operations.
Local mobilizations have been noted in central Somalia in the recent past.
The federal government is scheduled to work closely with local militias to complete Phase I of the operations before launching the second phase.
