President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has traveled to Southwest for a reconciliation meeting.
The President is scheduled to arrive in Baidoa on Tuesday.
He will attend the opening session of the reconciliation meeting that takes place in Baidoa between various warring parties.
President Mohamud is to hold preliminary discussions with Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen.
The reconciliation meeting is scheduled to kick off in the next few days.
Politicians opposed to Laftagareen will have their moment with President Mohamud. They will brief him on the genesis of their anger against Laftagareen.
Security has been tight in Baidoa following the arrival of Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe of the House of the People (Lower House) to chair the reconciliation efforts.
Speaker Madobe and other federal government officials arrived in Baidoa on Monday.
