Mogadishu – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday inspected the Turkish seismic vessel Oruc Reis following the completion of its offshore oil and gas exploration mission in Somali waters, according to a Villa Somalia statement.
The President hailed the operation as a major milestone in Somalia’s quest to harness its natural resources, reaffirming the government’s commitment to leveraging them for national development and prosperity.
He also praised Turkey’s continued support, emphasizing Ankara’s pivotal role in advancing Somalia’s energy sector and boosting investor confidence. “The visit marks a major step forward in Somalia’s efforts to capitalize on its resource potential,” the statement said.
