The President of Somalia has mourned the death of a former military leader in the country.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud led the rest of the nation in mourning General Mohamud Gelle Yusuf, who passed away in Mogadishu on Thursday night.
The President praised Gen. Yusuf’s contributions to the Somali National Army (SNA).
Gen. Yusuf was one of the top military leaders during the administration of the late President Siad Barre.
He served as the Deputy SNA chief and the Navy Force commander too.
President Mohamud offered his condolences to the friends and family of Gen. Yusuf as well as to the people and government of Somalia.
