President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud denied reports that his son fled Turkey after a fatal road accident.
On Wednesday, he said that his son has been in Turkey ever since the accident that occurred in late November.
Over the last few days, Turkish authorities repeatedly stated that Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the 40-year-old son of the Somali President, was no longer in the country.
They added that he fled after killing 38-year-old Yunus Emre Gocer.
At the time, Gocer was on his motorcycle while Mohammed was driving a vehicle belonging to the Somali consulate.
President Mohamud said he had asked his son to present himself to court in Turkey as soon as possible for the case.
