President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has said that neighboring countries remain integral to the nation’s counterterrorism efforts.
The Somali President spoke as he welcomed his counterparts from Kenya, Djibouti, and Ethiopia to the country for the Somalia-Frontline States Summit.
The one-day summit is on Wednesday.
President William Ruto, President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed all arrived in Mogadishu earlier today for the summit.
While welcoming them, President Mohamud expressed pleasure and honor at the chance to host his fellow leaders.
He added that all four leaders remain committed to eradicating terrorism in the region.
