Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has fired two of his cabinet ministers.
A communique from the Office of the Prime Minister shows that he has opted to send Mohamed Madobe Nunow and Ismail Abdirahman packing.
Nunow was the Minister of Agriculture.
Abdirahman served as the Minister of Public Works.
In firing them on Monday, Barre also announced Mohamed Abdi Maareeye and Abdisalan Abdi Dhay as their replacements.
Maareeye and Dhay are to be the new agriculture and public works ministers respectively.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is yet to fill three cabinet positions. He only appointed acting ministers in the Ministry of Internal Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs also has no substantive minister in charge.
