Somali refugees are fleeing to Kenya in their droves to escape the biting drought.
A report by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) shows that caravans of Somali migrants are making their way to Northern Kenya.
The migrants are all undocumented.
They are fleeing Somalia, which is currently facing one of its worst droughts and humanitarian crises in decades.
MSF said that its personnel have noticed a sharp increase in the number of new arrivals from Somalia at the Dagahaley Refugee Camp in Kenya.
“In July alone, our teams recorded 300 new arrivals from Somalia,” MSF said in its statement.
The number could be higher since the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) claims that 4,000 people have arrived in Kenya from Somalia since June 2022.
