Somali Senator Calls for Inclusive Electoral Talks in Mogadishu

Senator Mohamed Farole has said that the ongoing electoral talks in Mogadishu must be all-inclusive.

Farole made this call on April 5 while addressing members of the media.

In his estimate, it is a bit unfair to exclude some stakeholders from the ongoing electoral talks in Somalia’s capital city.

Thus far, the talks have been limited to participants from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).

Representatives from civil society groups and the opposition were not invited.

Senator Farole believes that participants from Somaliland ought to be at the discussions too.

He urged all stakeholders to protect federalism in Somalia.

Furthermore, Senator Farole urged authorities to ensure that elections are held without any further delay.
