Somali Senators will soon debate the Civil Servants Pension and Retirement Bill.
On Saturday, they received the Bill from Mohamed Elmi, the federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
Members of the Upper House expressed delight at the gesture by the minister to present the Bill to them in person.
Elmi called the opportunity to present the bill to the Senators a “privilege.”
The bill seeks to uphold the welfare of Somalia’s devoted civil servants while guaranteeing their rights, care, and dignity once they are no longer in active service.
