Somali terrorists have lost a third of their territory in the country.
Larry Andre, the United States Ambassador to Somalia, said this during an interview with the Voice of America (VOA) Somalia.
“The ongoing offensives against the militants are responsible for the loss of territory,” said Amb. Andre.
“Somalia is now much nearer to ending Al-Shabaab’s control,” added Amb. Andre.
In the first three months of 2023, the US donated tons of weapons to Somalia to help the East African nation fight the terrorists more effectively.
Somali National Army (SNA) troops have liberated villages and towns around the country from the control of Al-Shabaab terrorists.
