Somali government troops destroyed a financial center that Al-Shabaab has been running in Lower Shabelle for a long time.
The government troops conducted a military operation in Southwest state through the Danab Special Forces.
According to government sources, the Special Forces killed a leader of the Al-Shabaab militant group in the area.
The dead man has been identified only as Carab.
Close to a dozen other militants were wounded in the operation. Among the wounded was a terrorist identified as Osman Daud.
Several Al-Shabaab leaders were at the financial center during the operation.
Government troops managed to arrest several of them while freeing all civilians that Al-Shabaab held captive at the financial center.
The operation took place on Friday, September 9.
