Somalia was absent as countries took part as United Nations voted on whether to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council.
Ninety-three voted in favor of suspending Russia during a UN General Assembly held on April 7.
Consequently, UNGA adopted the resolution to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council owing to its military attacks against Ukraine.
Out of the 193 member countries, 58 abstained from Thursday’s vote.
Twenty-four nations were against the motion.
Somalia and Djibouti were two of the countries from the Horn of Africa region that didn’t show up for the vote.
It’s not clear why Somalia was a no-show in the vote.
