Somalia Among Early Recipients of Russian Wheat

Somalia is one of the earliest recipients of wheat from Russia.

The European nation donated a shipment of wheat and other grains to several African countries.

Somalia and Burkina Faso received a ship each full of wheat that Russia donated to help them offset their cereals deficits.

Dmitry Patrushev, the Russian Minister of Agriculture, confirmed this last week.

Patrushev added that each ship carried 25,000 tons of wheat.

“We expect each of those ships to reach their destinations by either end of November or in early December,” said Patrushev.

Ships carrying wheat to Mali, Eritrea, Zimbabwe, and the Central African Republic will leave Russia before the end of December.
