Somalia is among the countries that top the 2023 Emergency Watchlist prepared by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Other countries whose names appear at the top are Ethiopia and Afghanistan.
According to IRC, which published the list last month, Somalia and the other nations appearing at the top are expected to face a deteriorating humanitarian situation in 2023.
IRC launches the Emergency Watchlist annually.
Somalia and Ethiopia occupy the first two places on the list. Afghanistan is in third place.
The global organization added that the world currently has more than 340 million people in humanitarian need.
David Milliband, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IRC, added that the situation in Somalia and Ethiopia is primarily due to years of failed rains and drought.
