Somalia and the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) are eyeing an enhanced security partnership between themselves.
This was revealed on Wednesday during a meeting between President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Gen. Michael E. Langley.
Gen. Langley, the AFRICOM Commander, visited President Mohamud at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu.
Recently, the President has held high-profile meetings with senior US security and military chiefs.
A few days ago, on January 18, he held discussions at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu with William J. Burns, who is the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
