President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia engaged in crucial bilateral discussions with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo today.
The highlight of their meeting was the signing of a significant defense agreement between Somalia and Egypt, focusing on enhancing security cooperation between the two nations.
In a joint press conference, President Hassan Sheikh described the agreement as a “testament to a future of common defense against international terrorism,” highlighting its importance both domestically and globally.
He emphasized that the pact serves as a “blueprint for the exchange of knowledge and expertise” aimed at promoting peace and security across regional, continental, and international platforms.
The Somali President also expressed his deep gratitude to President El-Sisi and the Egyptian people for their steadfast support of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
