African nations that have been expecting Russian grains will start receiving them within the next six weeks.
Interfax News Agency reported that Dmitry Patrushev, the Russian Minister of Agriculture, confirmed the fresh dates.
Interfax reported Patrushev saying, “We are in the process of finalizing all the relevant documents.”
“Once the documents are ready, we will deliver the grains within the next month or month-and-a-half,” added the Russian minister.
Russian President Vladimir Putin promised the African nations grains in July.
Six African nations will each receive a donation of 25,000-50,000 tons of grains.
The nations earmarked for the donations include Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic (CAR), Eritrea, Somalia, Zimbabwe, and Mali.
