The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has signed a five-year cooperation deal with the United Nations.
Under the deal, both sides hope that Somalia would pursue and achieve “peace, stability, and prosperity” for all its citizens.
The UN Cooperation Framework was signed on Tuesday October 13 in Mogadishu.
FGS signed the deal with the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
Furthermore, the framework has stipulated the ways in which the UN would support the priorities, programs, and projects led or owned by the federal government.
James Swan, the Head of UNSOM, commended the brilliance and importance of the cooperation agreement.
According to Swan, the deal would provide all the support that the government needs to actualize development around the country.
