UNFPA Funds Skills-Based Training in Somaliland

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has funded a project in Somaliland designed to help more than 200 young women to acquire skills-based training.

Reports indicate that the young women are set to benefit from the 2-day training in Hargeisa.

The actual training is to be provided with assistance from Somaliland Humanitarian and Social Care Organization (SOHASCO).

Trainees would graduate from training with cooking, makeup, and tailoring skills.

UNFPA clarified that the funding for the project would be distributed through YPEER Somaliland.

UNFPA, SOHASCO, and YPEER Somaliland held a joint launching ceremony during which they clarified these issues.

Senior officers from the three organizations attended the ceremony.

They included Abdiaziz Mohamed Farah, who is the UNFPA Youth Director and Mohamed Mahad Damaa, the Executive Director of YPEER Somaliland.

Abdirizak Hussein Juma, the Executive Director of SOHASCO, represented his organization at the function.
