Somalia will work closely with the United States to counter the financing of terrorism financing.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud discussed this with Brian Nelson during their meeting on Thursday.
Nelson is the Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the US Department of Treasury.
They discussed Somalia-US cooperation in countering the financing of terrorism activities.
Apart from that, President Mohamud and Nelson also spoke about debt relief under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative (HIPIC).
The progress of the ongoing offensives against Al-Shabaab also featured strongly in their talks.
