Somalia has announced a fresh onslaught against Al-Shabaab militants.
Thousands of people are expected to gather along Mogadishu streets on Thursday to declare and launch a major offensive against terrorists around the country.
Over the last few weeks and months, the government has worked closely with local communities to fight terrorists.
Local militia joined forces with Somali National Army (SNA) and Africa Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to fight the militants.
Thursday’s event has been christened Mogadishu People’s Uprising.
