Somalia has finally attained full Universal Postal Union (UPU) membership.
This was revealed on Friday by the Ministry of Telecommunication and Technology.
Telecommunication minister Mohamed Adam Moallim Ali confirmed this development today.
Ali added that Somalia attained this milestone after settling its huge postal debt of 42 years.
He revealed that this took place following a recent visit to UPU offices in Bern.
During the visit, the minister took part in discussions on postal policies and quality of services.
The development of the postal sector also featured prominently in their discussions.
