Somalia commemorated the 60th Anniversary of strong diplomatic relations with China on December 14.
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) held a ceremony on Monday to celebrate the strong diplomatic ties it continues to enjoy with the global powerhouse.
China has been one of Somalia’s steadiest and most loyal international partners.
The Asian nation has helped the East African country to build several infrastructural projects.
Among these are the National Stadium in Mogadishu, the National Grand Theater, and the hydropower station to mention a few.
Several hospitals and roads in Somalia owe their existence to the Chinese government and investments too.
Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with his Somali counterpart, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
Jinping stated that Somalia and China’s relations have been built on a platform of understanding, helping, and supporting each other.
