Somalia Confirms 100 New Cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 100 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 to increase the entire total to 18,373.

On September 12, the ministry issued its latest update to the country. In it, the ministry indicated that Somaliland led with 32 cases.

Other regions that had high numbers include Puntland (28), Banadir (15), and Jubaland (14).

Once again, female cases seem to be on the rise with the latest update showing that they accounted for 57 of the fresh cases. The health ministry confirmed 43 male cases.

The death toll continued to increase with six new fatalities recorded. Currently, this tally stands at 1,023. Recoveries rose to 9,000 after 74 more people recovered from the disease.

Somalia’s health ministry said that the latest cases were from 1,709 samples tested in the last 48 hours.
