Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister chaired a meeting between the National Drought Relief Committee members and the Special Envoy for Drought Response.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi M. Gulaid chaired the meeting on Monday, May 30.
Apart from Gulaid, members of the National Drought Relief Committee were also at the meeting as was the newly appointed Special Envoy for Drought Response, Abdirahman Abdishakur.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Abdishakur the Special Envoy for Drought Response last week.
Since then, Abdishakur has been busy crisscrossing the country meeting various stakeholders to find solutions for the biting drought in Somalia.
