Somalia Diplomatic Institute Receives Gifts of Books and References from Qatar

Qatar sent gifts of books and references to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Diplomatic Institute.

The package contained hundreds of books. Scientific references on strategic studies and political science were in the collection too.

Qatari’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered this gift through its Diplomatic Institute in a ceremony attended by various dignitaries representing the two governments.

Ahmed Issa Awad, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation was the highest-ranking official from the Federal Government of Somali at the event.

Yusuf Alasow Mohamud, the Director of the Somali Diplomatic Institute, received the gifts on behalf of his employer.

Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, Qatar’s ambassador to Somalia, presented the gifts.

Minister Awad said, “We are grateful to Qatar for the diversified support it continues to extend to our country.”

On his part, Director Mohamud said, “We extend our gratitude to Qatar for providing our institute with hundreds of precious books and references.”

Director Mohamud proceeded to state that the gifts would be of great benefit to its cadres of officers. He also said that the gifts would help rehabilitate Somalis everywhere in the country.
