Somali and Egyptian officials discussed ways of fostering cooperation between their respective nations, people, and government.
This followed a meeting between Ali Mohammed Omar and Sameh Shukri in Cairo.
Omar is Somalia’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
He was in Cairo for the meeting and subsequent discussions with his Egyptian counterpart.
Their discussions come in the wake of the ongoing diplomatic row between Ethiopia and Somalia for over two months now.
Egypt has promised to stand by and defend Somalia against any external interference or aggression.
