The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has dropped all charges initially filed against a fugitive Jubbaland minister.
Two weeks ago, Abdirashid Janan defected from Jubbaland to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s side.
Prior to that, he had been one of Farmaajo’s harshest critics.
A fortnight ago, he shocked his supporters after pledging allegiance to President Farmaajo’s administration.
His move caused consternation back home thus forcing Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe to relieve him of his duties.
On Tuesday April 6, the media saw a copy of a letter from FGS dropping all charges the government had previously raised against Janan.
