Somalia is currently facing the worst water crisis and scarcity in 40 years, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Somalia announced.
IOM Somalia said this on January 31.
According to the organization, drought could affect more than 1 million Somalis in the country by April 2022.
IOM has called for urgent action to prevent the situation from worsening.
The organization has stated that the East African country’s boreholes and shallow wells are on the verge of running dry.
