Somalia Grateful to Poland for Receiving Somali Nationals Fleeing from Ukraine

The Federal Government of Somali (FGS) has extended its gratitude to Poland for receiving Somali nationals who are fleeing from the war in Ukraine.

Mohamed Abdullahi, the Charge d’Affaires at the Somali Embassy in Belgrade, conveyed his government’s gratitude on Thursday, March 3.

He did this during a meeting with Rafal Perl, the Polish Ambassador to Serbia.

Abdullahi was acting on the instructions of Abdisaid Muse Ali, who is Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Close to 300 Somalis are caught up in Ukraine.

The Somali government has negotiated for their safe passage from Ukraine through other neighboring countries.
