Somalia has reaffirmed its commitment to the implementation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2628.
UNSC Resolution 2628 is on the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the federal Minister of Defense, issued this reassurance when he met Kiki Gbeho on August 30.
Gbeho is the Deputy United Nations Special Representative to Somalia.
She visited Nur at the latter’s office in Mogadishu.
Nur and Gbeho discussed the implementation of the UNSC Resolution 2628 on ATMIS as well as the pending tasks such as coordination between key strategic partners.
They agreed that the implementation of the Somali government’s key priorities must be timely.
