Mogadishu — The Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahamuud Moallim, has officially inaugurated the launch of the process to develop a new National Disaster Management Policy.
Led by SoDMA, this initiative is a key component of the ongoing Crisis Recovery Project aimed at strengthening Somalia’s capacity to manage and respond to natural and human-induced disasters.
The policy will provide a strategic framework for risk reduction, emergency preparedness, and resilience building. Stakeholders from across government, civil society, and international partners are expected to participate in shaping the final document.
