A Somalia cabinet minister discussed the fight against terrorism with United States Embassy personnel.
Abdulkadir Mohamed, the Minister of Defense, met with officials from the Embassy on January 10.
Diplomats and military officials from the US Embassy were at the meeting, which took place at the defense ministry’s offices in Mogadishu.
Mohamed and the US Embassy staff also discussed the need for strengthening military cooperation between their two respective nations.
Over the years, the US has kept a strong military presence in Somalia and the entire Horn of Africa region to ward off terrorists.
