Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia has called for peace in Somaliland.

The Prime Minister issued the call for peace on Friday, August 12.

He spoke amid reports of deadly clashes in different parts of the northern region a day earlier on Thursday.

The previous day’s clashes between opposition supporters and security forces caused the death of three civilians.

Prime Minister Barre called upon the leaders and people of Somaliland to maintain peace.

He also urged them to resolve their differences through dialogue.

The Prime Minister stated that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is willing and ready to participate in efforts to resolve the disputes between the two sides peacefully.
