Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia has called upon Somaliland to pull its troops from Las Anod.
The Prime Minister issued the call on Monday.
He spoke at an evening function in Mogadishu.
“The withdrawal of troops from Las Anod would pave the way for dialogue,” stated Prime Minister Barre.
He added that the pulling out of troops from the war-torn region would also establish a ceasefire while creating room for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Las Anod has not known any peace for much of this year following clashes between Somaliland troops and forces loyal to Mogadishu.
