Somalia is ready for war with Ethiopia.
A senior advisor to Somalia’s Office of the President confirmed the nation’s preparedness for war with Ethiopia over the latter’s recent agreement with Somaliland.
In the January 1, 2024 deal, Ethiopia would recognize Somaliland as an independent nation.
Ethiopia would then get direct access and control to one of the largest seaports in Somaliland.
Somalia has opposed the agreement completely. It has also nullified the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
The advisor added that Somalia seeks diplomatic solutions for now.
However, he mentioned that the nation would not hesitate to go to war against Ethiopia to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
