Somalia Receives $100 Million from the World Bank as Budget Assistance

Somalia has received $100 million from the World Bank as budgetary assistance.

Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, the federal Minister of Finance, broke the news to the public on Friday, July 29.

The finance minister confirmed that he had signed an agreement with the World Bank.

“I’m proud to have signed this agreement with the World Bank on behalf of our country,” Dr. Beileh stated.

He assured Somalis that the funds would assist Somalia to finance its future priorities.

The World Bank disbursed the funds after the Somali government fulfilled all conditions for economic reforms that they had agreed upon.
