The European Union (EU) has provided €40 million in humanitarian aid to Somalia.
This aid is intended to address the severe humanitarian crisis in the country, driven by prolonged drought, conflict, and food insecurity.
EU announced that it had released the funds to Somalia’s federal government on Wednesday.
The funding will be used to support emergency assistance in areas such as food and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
It would also help provide healthcare, shelter, and protection for the most vulnerable communities, including internally displaced persons (IDPs).
This assistance aims to alleviate the suffering of millions of Somalis affected by these compounded challenges.
